My blog seems to have taken a step back as all my efforts are pushed towards my masters course. With this said I have found time to make some new images for my home page. They are based along some of my current thoughts and ideas and are pictured below.

Today was the first day of my masters course, at the Belfast Art College. A mixed bag of emotions and thoughts where on display from myself. While there I had a new idea for a font based display of the Greasy Fringe brand, which I plan to develop, its pictured below. I'm really looking forward to getting started and developing my idea's to an even further level. Progress and research can be viewed on my masters link situated on the main navigation.
Multi-Disiplinary Design Course Link

During the summer I have been living and working in sunny Spain, but my time is nearly at an end. Its back to Belfast for me soon and time to get stuck into my new course which is a Masters in Multi-Disiplinary Design, at the Art College, Belfast. I couldn't be happier at this stage in the game, if you don't believe me check out my smile below.

I have decided to build myself a personal DJ website to promote all things Gary Quinn. I will use this site to pull in all my other music projects so that it will become a central hub. As I'm building it for myself I have complete design control over its look and feel. I want to use the site as an experimental platform to see if can design a site using only two colors. The site is currently work in progress.

Club Kinetik is a nightclub based in Belfast City. I recently gave the website a freshen up as it was looking a bit dated. New features include a link to Kinetik Bebo and Facebook pages plus a podcast that will be starting in the next few months.

I am currently starting to design a website for a Belfast based furniture store called, Ideal Home Furniture. This project is only at the most basic of stages of development.

This year celebrates a very special achievement for myself as I will have been DJ'ing for 15 years. I'm planning to have a big party for this occasion and play what I consider to be my favorite tunes that I have collected during this time. I have created a website that will eventually feature pictures and recordings from this night. At the moment it is just a simple count down to the date.

The Boutique is a new clubbing concept that I am currently putting together. The idea behind this experience is that it will be located in a small and intimate venue, with DJ's playing designer music. This will be a very unique experience and concept, something very different from other nights in Belfast. I have all the visual ideas for how this will all look, work and so on, so be patient and watch this space..

I have made a limited number of Greasy Fringe badges as pictured below. There are, and will only ever be, 38 of these badges. They are available on request though my contact page, and limited to one per person, so just drop me an email if you would like one and I will post them off to the lucky people.

This entry is dedicated to my good friend Charles Henry Doucette IV, or "Chuck." An expert fly fisherman who had previously served his country as a special forces marine. Chuck had a "bigger than life" personality and brought great happiness to many peoples lives, including mine. Gone but never forgotten.

From the first of january I dumped my shaver and have been proudly growing a beard. Having a beard has opened up many doors for myself and I have ended up in some strange situations. It has also been a random conversation starter as people approached me to exchange beard stories and so on. I have to thank Bearduary Belfast for this wonderful creation and I shed a small tear on this, the last day of my beard (for now).

I have just finished the design of a new t-shirt for myself. The design is reversed as I have a personal hatred against big brands names on t-shirts. This method lets me have my Greasy Fringe brand on the t-shirt, yet making it unreadable. That is unless you are looking at me through a mirror.

We here at Greasy Fringe like to try and think outside the box. So for people who have in interest in such things I have created a set of Greasy Fringe coasters. Now you can serve your tea in style without leaving a stain on that good table.

I have been printing t-shirts off for a while as I like wearing my own designs. Obviously this suits me perfectly as I get the opportunity to promote myself by doing this. The Cheeky Dab design is going down a storm, with many people asking where I got it. With the help of some friends we plan to use this name to launch all of out t-shirt deigns together, so watch this space. Pity is my usual t-shirt maker seems to be ignoring my business at the moment. I will not shame him but I'm very disappointed by his behaviour, his loss.

I put these designs together for some friends. We love Sundays in Space, Ibiza is one of their favorite events to attend. Now thanks to myself they can let everybody know how they feel about these events while strutting there stuff. I think its pretty obvious to say that I need to thank Milton Glaser for the inspiration.

In keeping with my theme of all things street associated I have designed a series of t-shirts to promote "Making Our Streets Dirty Again." Yes that's right folks, drop litter, drive everywhere, avoid recycled material and lets reclaim the streets! I'm not looking to make any enemies with this and I should point out that this is all in the name of art.

Currently under development, this will be a personal project, The Floral Hall in based in the grounds of Belfast's Zoological Gardens. I plan to build a website that will raise awareness of the building and its history.

The site has received a major over hall and now contains this blog. I plan to start including all my projects small and big from this point on. While it is not really an actual blog (something I would never ever consider doing) Its more of a guide to what I'm currently working on. To launch this new site I have included a copy of the Greasy Fringe Christmas card graphic, bringing festive cheer to all. The new front page is designed to load up examples of my previous work and new work examples randomly.
